My Year of Magical Thinking: Inspiration is my Superpower!
This photo was taken almost one year ago. It was at the launch of my 1st S.H.I.N.E. Miami, Spirit, Hope, Insight, a Networking Event. All these beautiful women, and approximately 140 more not pictured, came together to Dream Big, to Sparkle and to Leave a Trail of Glitter through sharing inspiration and their brilliant light on a Sunday afternoon. I did not know what to expect, I just knew something wonderful was going to happen. . . and sure enough it did!
It is also almost one year ago that I published my first book entitled, The Magical Guide to Bliss, Daily Keys to Unlock Your Dreams, Spirit and Inner Bliss. It was a book that I began to write after my mother passed away. It was a book that helped me navigate the stormy waters of grief. It was a book that was filled with inspiration that saved me and catapulted this next part of my journey, my journey to bliss.
Ever since my S.H.I.N.E. event launch and my book was published, so many things have happened that both exceeded my expectations and disappointed at the same time. Needless to say it has been quite the emotional roller-coaster ride this last year. And I have documented my journey by writing entries in My Year of Magical Thinking to see memorialize and see what would happen if I actually could live my life using the guidance that I channeled into my magical pink guide. And not surprisingly so, I have learned so much about myself through the introspection along the way, many qualities that I am happy to claim and others that I wish I could divorce from my personality. But truth be told, I have learned a little more, no a lot more about who I am, why I am here, and what it means to be authentically me on this beautiful journey that is my life.
My favorite discovery, perhaps even a reinforcement of what I already knew, is that I am certain that inspiration IS my superpower. To inspire others to identify what their calling, to encourage others to think outside the little box that no longer serves them, to empower others to see more for their life then what was ever suggested at the outset; this is what I live for, this is what I wake up in the morning to do, this is perhaps my greatest calling, my vocation, my passion for the rest of my days here in this Earth school.
And this is September in my magical pink guide to bliss, this is the month of sweet inspiration, this is my month because this is what I love. And as September 6 so rightly sets out, you might as well do what you love. When I don’t, depression sets it, I am lost in a fog of my own making; when I don’t- it is as if I am covered with kryptonite and am paralyzed by the fear of regrets.
As I sit and prepare to reset my mind and perspective on gratitude for the lessons learned this past year; as I busily put together the 2nd Annual S.H.I.N.E. Networking that has evolved into a non profit to provide educational scholarships for young innovative leaders in my community; as I ready myself for the On Pointe Book Fair in Tampa in September and the renowned Miami Book Fair in November, I must remind myself that the reason I am here is to inspire. With the divine hand of the universe guiding my way, never leaving my side, I once again will choose what I love and pray that the opportunities to do so will follow. I am here to serve and with these beautiful women by my side, how can I go wrong!
