Perfectly flawed.

There is a crack in everything. That’s how the light gets in.

~Leonard Cohen, Canadian singer, songwriter, musician, and poet

Without the struggle, there would be no elation in triumph. Without the obstacles, there would be no need to think outside the box for creative and innovative solutions. Without the lessons from hardships, there would be no need to face our fears and evolve to a higher consciousness. Without the failures along the way, there would be no opportunities to gather the tools necessary to guide us on. However, when faced with the struggle, the obstacles, the hardships, and the failures all at once, whether because of a loss, health- or work-related stress, familial issues, or loneliness, we feel our hard exterior start to crack under the pressure. At that point, as the crack becomes more obvious on the surface, we make the decision to either curse the flaw or break open to let in the light. As we get older, when we honor the process, we must let go of our need for perfection so that we can survive and even thrive as the art of acceptance helps to minimize our anxieties about the difficult growing pains. As we focus on our breathing, input positive intentions, recite our uplifting mantras, learn to meditate, and live our life as an ongoing prayer, we will start to bask in the glow of receiving divine inspiration when we need it most. As we embrace our cracks, embrace our flaws, and stand in gratitude for the opportunity to accept our brokenness, hope is possible as we gain gratitude for being perfectly flawed and deeper appreciation for all of life as it unfolds.
