In everything give thanks!
“We often take for granted the very things that most deserve our gratitude.”
Cynthia Ozick, Writer
There are days in life that run effortlessly and then there are days where we stumble often! On the days where life seems to flow effortlessly, it is pretty easy to find things to be grateful for. On the days where life seems laden with challenging obstacles, it is pretty difficult to get out the door never mind appreciate blessings. Two sides of life, each a part of the journey. Each a part of our story. And, each filled with lots to be grateful for. For it on those days when we experience the challenge that we can actually appreciate more the days when life moves along like a dream. For without the challenge, we would take for granted those days where life moves along a bit easier. It is really as simple as being grateful for everything we encounter on this journey in life. While we yearn for more carefree days, sometimes we cannot recognize the gifts that lie in the everyday until we face adversity. And as long as we don’t get caught up in identifying with the adversity and let it define us, adversity can be the ingredient that shows us how strong we are. Sometimes it is in the adversity that we find out what we are made of and we get the opportunity to cross paths with the most influential people that we will meet in this life. There too we find the building blocks and tools that will help us along the way. So start being grateful for it all now and remember live every day to its fullest. Each minute is a blessing from God. And never forget the people who make a difference in our lives are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards. They are the ones that care for us. Everyone is fragile as we go about our days. If you see someone without a smile today give him or her one of yours! Live simply. Love seriously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. Leave the rest to God. And most of all don’t forget to laugh. It is all going to be ok and for that wisdom I am extremely grateful!
